Thanksgiving

How was my Thanksgiving you ask? Well it was great! We all had a really great day and remembered the things in life that we are thankful of. We started out the day going to the beach. We went with Mom, Brandon, Grandpa Tony, and Grandma Janice. It was so much fun at the beach looking for sea shells. The main type of shell that we look for is sand dollars because they are so special to all of us. We used to go to the beach with them often but for some reason we just stopped and although I'm sure we all would have rather been in the desert we had a really great day at the beach.
When we got to the beach I wrote my name in the sand, it's important to leave your mark you know. Thankfully Grandma had her grabbers so I was able to write it because I couldn't find a stick. Now here's the amazing thing, Brandon has never found a sand dollar before and not even being at the beach for more than three minutes he runs up to us and shows us this...

He found a sand dollar!
We were so proud of him and it motivated us to get a move on and start the great search. After a long time of looking, still no one had found one, well except for Brandon. I think he found a couple pieces of some but know one else could find one. Finally mom decided it was time for a picture. Hence this one... Brandon was being a terd and wasn't cooperating for them so this is the best one we got, it's not bad.

When the pictures were all over and I did some really horrible cartwheels we went back to searching. After a while of just looking in the water hoping I would find one something caught my eye. Quickly I raced down to the ground to see what it was and boy was I ecstatic to find that I had just found a sand dollar. It wasn't the biggest one and the bottom was a little cracked but I found one! And I loved finding it. Here I am with my sand dollar in hand.

About a couple minuets after I found one Mom found one too. It was so exciting to have all three of us find a sand dollar on Thanksgiving. But unfortunately Grandma didn't find any this time. Oh well Grandma, I guess we'll just have to go again.

Brandon, Mom, and me at the beach. (In case you were wondering Dad was at home sleeping this whole time due to the fact that he works nights, Grandma was taking the picture, and Grandpa just watches us walk the beach.)

After the beach we all went home and Mom started cooking the turkey. We got a 20 pounder! Cooking took a long time but in the end it was so good that it was worth it. Grandma and Grandpa came over when the turkey was done and Grandpa was getting ready to make the gravy. Now because Grandpa made the gravy it was one of the most memorable Thanksgivings ever! He was making it in a glass jar and he set it on the stove (with the flame on) it didn't do anything, until he added cold milk and flour. Then all of a sudden...KABOOM!!!! The whole kitchen was covered in gravy and glass! The whole jar exploded along with the contents inside. Grandpa was covered in gravy as was Mom, the dogs, and the rest of the kitchen. Then we had to re make potatoes because they had glass in them. But when it was all done and we finally got to eat, at around 6:30, it was very good. Although I'm not the biggest eater it was fun.

And here's a picture of Grandpa and me playing with my new love, my iPod touch. ( I got it with my own money too) And Brandon was hovering around us. Hope you had a great thanksgiving just like I did. And don't forget to remember all the things you are thankful for.
