Is your Dad...

Obsessed

with storms?Mine is.

He has been preparing for the upcoming storms since last Friday! He loves the rain! He has made several trips to Lowes to buy sand bags and is always trying to prefect his leve which keeps breaking, although it held up today with the additional help of 4 more sand bags and Louie's bobcat.

He even went out to document the rain!

He is one indescribable man , my father.

I think he should become a storm chaser.

He also did a documentary about the storm on our street. I'll try to post the video later, because it's not working right now.

Check back later to Channel my dad's a wacko for further information on the upcoming Vista Storms!

I'm Mackenzie signing off.

Great Grandpa Bob

On Saturday we went and traveled down to Anaheim to celebrate Great Grandpa Bob's 85th birthday! It was a lot of fun getting to see everyone it had been a long time. First we went over to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little to wait for everyone then once we were all there we left for the Mexican restaurant. The restaurant was pretty good and it was one of the cheapest meals! It was only a whopping $78 for 14 people to eat and the portions were fairly large. Here you see Aunt Sandy (my great aunt from New Jersey), and Jenni. (Courtney and Mariah probably didn't see the camera)
Great Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Helen. (my dad's grandparents)

And here is everyone! From Left to right: Dad, Mom, Mark (Stacia's Boyfriend) Courtney, Stacia, Mariah (her head is down) Grandma Lorranie, Papa Rich, Brandon, Me, Aunt Sandy, Jeni, Great Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Helen.
(sorry the pictures are hard to see but we couldn't get the flash to work)

Here is Stacia and Mariah giving Grandpa his birthday cake as we all sing Happy Birthday. He had 14 candles on the cake. As Aunt Sandy would say "8+5=13 and 1 for good luck and we have 14 people." I wish Aunt Sandy lived closer or that we could go up and see her because she is a crack up! There is never a dull moment with her. One of the funny things she said was "Oh they put sexy lights in a family car!" Just because our car has purple lights on the inside. haha. And then I think this however, just tops it all off.
Here is a video of Aunt Sandy singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was the funniest thing she just stopped me and said, "Do you know how to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" I said yes, so next thing I know she says I can sing it like a drunk person! Do you wanna hear? I in a chuckle: "sure" And this is what I heard...

No I promise she is NOT drunk, this is just her. I love it! She can even do it fast! That's my Aunt Sandy for you! You gotta love her.

New Years

Our New Years Weekend was so much fun! Our family went to the desert with the Isas, Riddles, and Andersons! It was a blast. Even Chelsie, who lives in Utah got to come with us and she brought along her new friend Heidi. Here are some of the highlights of our trip. On all of the rides mom drove the rhino and Chelsie, Heidi and I rode in it with her. Masyn was bummed that she didn't get to have lunch on Poop hill so we took her on a ride to a new hill that she got to name. She loved "Mary Jane Hill"! We found a lot of boobie rocks too by Mary Jane Hill. It was like boobie rock headquarters there was so many. Boobie rocks are actually very fun to look for because if you use your imagination you can pretty much find anything. For example Kayley found a duck and Aron found a "Moon hushing the stars" I couldn't help but giggle when he described his rock. Then he kept singing... "hush, hush...hush, hush." Nolan was a crack up as always and everyone loved being around him. Kelsey and I would spin him around and he would just laugh and get all dizzy. He also loved riding his dirt bike but someone has to ride with him. Brandon got the job for the majority of the weekend and I think he liked it more than Nolan. We also used Dad's new projector for movie nights and karaoke. It was so much fun to karaoke out in the desert at night on a huge screen and it was really fun to be able to watch a movie by the fire. Something that was also really fun was hide and seek in the dark. Kelsey,Brandon,Gavin, Joe, Masyn, Kayley and I were in the pitch dark playing hide and go seek and we were all over mountains. It's really fun but kinda hard because you find yourself tripping all the time. The first time we played Kelsey and I were looking for Gavin and apparently we were like 5 feet away from him and didn't see him so all the sudden he jumped out and scared us so bad we started running the opposite way and Kelsey tripped down the hill. And guess what I got my yummy bread! (Thanks Aunt Julie)
But I have to say the best part of the whole trip was our ride to Superstition. On the way there we came across some obstacles...
Craig was the leader of the group and we were coming up to a lot of mud and water. The first big part we just blasted through. That was sooo much fun. It literally felt like we were in the Shamu stadium being blasted with water! It just sprayed all over us. Well there was another part of the mud coming up and Craig must have thought he could make it so he started to go through and not even a couple feet into it he realized that he was stuck! Everyone figured it was just mud but then the bike started sinking. So we parked the other bikes near Craig's and everyone (well most of us) were trying to help get the bikes out. The guy's were waist high in quicksand and trying to get bikes saved. While they were taking Craig's bike out all the other ones started to sink too! We had to get all the bikes out of the quicksand and it was so funny. At first I didn't want to get muddy but after a while of going back and forth with big pieces of wood trying to dodge my way through mud I decided it wasn't worth it so I just kept on walking straight through it, taking huge steps so I would start to sink. I'm sure all the guys didn't enjoy it while it was happening but after it's hilarious! We were getting bikes out of that quicksand for about an hour maybe longer. I don't think anyone will be able to forget this moment...
...But we made it to Superstition muddy bikes, people and all!
This was such a memorable trip and I assure you we all had a ton of fun. We had a great New Years and I hope this Year can be just as fun as the weekend that led up to it. I look forward to many more fun trips where we gain more stories to tell. (Even though I'm a little late)
Happy 2010!
And P.S. Gavin next time could you not wear the same underwear for 4 days in a row? No, when you cleaned up in the quicksand water does not count as washing them.
